Pastor’s Corner

As we finish the Christmas Season, I want to express once again, my many thanks to those of you who helped make this Christmas beautiful. It was so nice to receive so many nice messages, all the goodies, and the wonderful gifts. Your thoughtfulness was much appreciated.
We have many things happening here at the parish over the next several months ahead. Watch the bulletin for details!
Baptism class will be on Wednesday, January 24th from 6:30- 7:15, during our Wednesday Community Night. Plan on being there if you wish to have your child baptized.
Next, I will be teaching a lesson from “Called to Protect”, to K, 1, & 2 on Wednesday, January 28th during Wed. community night. The 3rd, 4th, & 5th grades lesson will be taught on Wednesday, Feb. 11th at the community night, Grade 6 video presentation of Called to Protect: Children will be on Wednesday February 18th during Middle School Youth Group, and Middle school (Gr. 6-8) update for Called to Protect will be March 4th during Middle school youth. The High School Youth update session will be on Sunday, February 8th during our youth group night. I will be doing the lessons with all the classes. Please contact me with any questions you may have regarding Called to Protect. I will try to answer them, or find answers out.

SPIRITUAL ENRICHMENT
Linda Schubert, noted author of the best seller "Miracle Hour" will be at Holy Trinity on Saturday, January 24th and Sunday, January 25th. Linda is the author of a number of other books including "Miracle Moments", "Rich in Mercy", "The Healing Powers of a Father's Blessing", and "True Confessions". Linda will give a two part presentation. Part one will be on Saturday evening following the 5:00 pm Mass and part two will be on Sunday following the 10:30 am Mass. A light meal will be served at both sessions. There will be a free-will donation. If you need child care, please notify Kathleen Stadelman, 347-2640.

Wednesday Community Night
We are back, up and running, and we are so excited about the second half of the year. We are grateful to Carlos Renteria who was the chef of our meal this past week, and to thank Don Fraser who sponsored the meal for January 7th. We continue our Wednesday Community Nights this week. If you wish to volunteer, call Sharon Hennick @ 297-5555.

High School Youth
We are planning many great things for our second part of the year. We are also in the final process of getting our jackets. What a cool thing, to have our own youth group jackets. Come and check our youth group out tonight, January 11th. No youth group next week, January 18th, and no youth group January 25th, due to Confirmation Class.

COFFEE HOUR
Our next Coffee Hour is on February 1st
CONFIRMATION
REMINDER: to please turn in forms to Fr. Andrew ASAP. Our next class is January 25th at 5:00 p.m. in the parish hall. The topic for the evening is “The Creed.” I hope to see you there. Our Feb. 7th trip north is cancelled, but we will have a morning of reflection on February 7th from 9:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. Your sponsor should be here for this day. It will include time for sharing, education, and Mass. We will have snacks provided at the beginning.

Faith Sharing/ Bible Study
Thursdays: 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. @ the parish hall. Please plan on joining us in the New Year.

ADORATION
Thursday: 12:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Friday: 8:30a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Mass Intentions are available all year. If you wish to have one said for your loved ones who have passed away or for other various intentions or people please call Fr. Andrew.

2009 Envelopes
Your 2009 envelopes are here! Please pick them up in the vestibule after Mass. If you would like envelopes but don't have them, please let Fr. Andrew know. If you aren't registered at Holy Trinity, please ask a greeter or Father for a registration form.

Reconciliation/ First Communion
Fr. Andrew will be making a visit to the class in the coming weeks to discuss these very important areas. As the Sacraments get closer, we will have special classes with parents and students. Details to come.

CD for Sale
Ray Silvia and Catherine Rowe have their 4th CD “Crystal River” for sale at only $10.00. If you are interested, please call Ray @ 290-8168.

PRAYER GROUP
The prayer group meets Tuesday evenings @ 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel.

St. John’s (Port Orford)
Volunteers are needed to 'church-sit' during the Red Cross blood drive on February 4, 2009 (in two hour shifts) from 11:00am to 6:00pm. Please see Dusty. Bring a book or knitting because all you have to do is sit there like St. Peter and 'guard the gates'.
PASTORAL COUNCIL
The Pastoral Council Meeting is set for Tuesday, January 20th in the Holy Trinity Parish Hall. It begins at 6:30 p.m. It is open to any individual of the parish community.

Altar Society News
Meeting on January 15th @ 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall.
Please save your Juan Ana Coffee bags for Altar Society projects. A basket is provided in the vestibule of the Church.
On January 21st, the Altar Society will supply main dish for Wed. Community Night Dinner, and they ask for you to bring your favorite veggie dish, salad, or dessert.
